AMD offers better multi-core performance. Having recently reviewed the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 with the AMD CPU, we now move on to the ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 with a Tiger Lake processor. Read our review to learn how the Intel chip stacks up against the AMD processor.

lasts longer than the AMD model, good input devices, rigid housing, two SSD slots

underside gets really warm, only one RAM slot, no SD card reader
Top performance thanks to Ryzen. The 15.6-inch office laptop from Lenovo comes with the redesigned housing and only AMD CPUs. We examine the second generation of the ThinkPad E15 with a Ryzen 7 processor.

great CPU performance, good ThinkPad input devices, robust housing, upgradable storage, Wi-Fi 6

no longer has a microSD card slot, fewer USB ports and even one USB 2.0 port, dim, colour-inaccurate display, only one SO-DIMM slot, very high temperatures on the underside, offers worse battery life than the Intel-powered E15
As one of the few laptops in my collection, I will say that the screen lacks a bit of color, and is saturated in a rather weird way. I recommend you download Intel's Graphics Command Center to try and touch it up. Battery life isn't super amazing, but the performance is stellar.
Great Laptop for Price - Specifications it can't be beaten in price with comparable computers. That being said, I still wish it had better performance during online streaming. I have seen better performance on laptops with hypothetical worse resolution - so that doesn't make much sense to me.
Purchased for graduate school - has preformed flawlessly so far and I use it for heavier programs. Keyboard feels great and touchpad works really well. Also really like the physical shutter to the webcam. For some reason that just makes me feel better. Time will tell if it continues to amaze.
Overall, I like the design of the new TP E15 Gen 2. However, there are a couple reasons why I can't give it a 5-star review. First and foremost as a LONG time user of TPs, I LOVE the Trackpoint - it's a big reason why I still purchase only TPs.
Although I have not had this computer for a long amount of time, from what i have seen, it runs well and performs its duties for me as a college student. I might have to edit this post later when finals comes around and I have more tabs open, however. All in all, good choice for a laptop.
Bought this and just over a year later it will no longer charge. Complete junk.
Bought a couple for the company. Great equipment. Always a great choice.
its an amazing product for hard work in apps with high level memory consumption
I absolutely love this laptop. It is incredibly fast. The keyboard has a great feel to it and easy to us. I also like that it has an HDMI port as well as two standard USB ports as well as a Thunderbolt.USB C connection. The setup was very simple and it is very lightweight.
Extremely good laptop does exactly what I need it to do. Screen is big and the bezzles are small.
